Welcome To The Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority's
Superior Officers Benevolent Association

We are the union representing the Lieutenants and Sergeants of the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority. Our objectives and purpose are to assist our members by obtaining :

1. Adequate compensation for their labor
2. Improvements in working conditions
3. Promote social welfare for our members
4. Foster the advancement of members' professional skills
5. Maintain high standards for the uniform force

The Lieutenants and Sergeants supervise the police force that patrol the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority facilities which include the Verrazano Narrows, the Throgs Neck, the Bronx Whitestone, the Triborough Manhattan, the Triborough Bronx, the Henry Hudson, the Cross Bay Veterans Memorial, and the Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridges, as well as the Brooklyn Battery and Queens Midtown Tunnel.
Their duties on these facilities are to preserve the public peace, prevent crime, and arrest offenders. Also, they regulate, direct, control, and restrict vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Enforce and prevent violation of all laws and ordinances, issue summonses, and arrest all persons guilty of violating any laws or ordinances.

The Lieutenants and Sergeants also supervise uniformed officers, maintenance workers, and civilian toll force. They are responsible for the safe and efficient flow of traffic during all types of weather conditions. They also respond to accidents and emergency situations where they assist the public, file reports and assess the need for manpower and other emergency personnel response.
